The Gobi is a real desolate place but it's desolation has really infused the culture with such warmth and friendliness. I am so happy that I've found it because it is the only way to be happy. Getting to know people has opened a lot of doors for me as I find that I am always taken care of around camp. I don't think it's really hard to care for others - but I can see how people deal with the hardships out here in different ways - most developing a superiority complex and really shutting their hearts and minds to the people of the countryside. It's scary not being able to communicate so easily but just like a kid would act, you just have to have an open heart and look for the common strings that exist at the root of being human despite cultural differences.
