"Landscape, S. Mongolia"

Some family and friends know that I've accepted a job offer to work in Mongolia. I wish I could record the hundreds of reactions, usually summed up in one word....Mongolia?!, MONgoliA?, MonGOLia?, MONGOLIAAAA???!!, Nice, Monwho?, China? I'll be leaving in September, so now that you know, be sure we get in some bluegrass, beer and bicycling. And for all you relayers out there, run, run, run and I'll catch you on the flipside!

Uprooting may be good for the soul. The pace of life is about to change. Plans and preparations come into view but the future remains unfocused. That's because in a short while, travel will take front seat to the idea of it and the only thing left to do will be to put one foot in front of the other. Anything that can go wrong, probably will, and most likely twice as often as at home. So it's time to put the ideas aside, cherish the power of now and let tomorrow bring anticipated necessities. So good for the soul since "life is much more important than food and the body much more important than clothes." Lk 12:23

Andrea,

Follow your heart, have fun, be safe, and learn things.

Remeber that your big brother will fly to Mongolia to beat up anyone who gives you trouble. ;)

Will miss you but I have already left, so it is your turn...understand the need to shed the commute and head to peace of mind. Love you! MAB (ex-Rocky Flattr')

Andrea,
When you are living in Mongolia, what I will miss most is your voice on the phone saying "Hi Mom! Whatchadoin'?" And after a bit you'll tell me what you've been up to. So I'm depending upon your emails and blog updates to fill that void. Go with God, and you know my prayers will be hovering around you. I love you and miss you already.
